Opening London Living Lab

On Thursday 26 February we celebrated the opening of a new Living Lab, based in London.

Working in partnership with the Royal College of Art (RCA) and Imperial College London, the Institute for Sustainability has commissioned the SusLab Living Laboratory  on the London Sustainable Industries Park (London SIP), East London which has been supplied and built by  Climate Energy Homes. The SusLab Living Lab is one of a handful of facilities in the UK that provides a rare opportunity to co-create, design,  and test new interventions to better understand peoples’ behaviour when using energy control systems in a real home setting.

Using this facility will provide appliance manufacturers, designers, utilities and control technology companies with a unique insight for developing solutions for residential properties, which are tested and co-designed with end users. The Living Lab is one of four European pilots which are all connected via a data infrastructure to enable pan-European comparison.
