SusLab Mid Term Event
The SusLab Mid Term Event that took place on Wednesday 5 November at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) was a success and attracted a wide variety of participants from both international academia and industry.
Hosted by chairman Prof. Greg Morrison from Chalmers University of Technology, the day was kicked off with an warm word of welcome from Prof. Ir. Ena Voûte, dean of the faculty Industrial Design Engineering at TU Delft.
Ena stressed the potentially large impact of behaviour change to reduce energy in households, underlining the relevance of a platform like SusLab to create a more sustainable living environment.
We enjoyed presentations from Eneco on the transition of energy companies, from IDE TU Delft on using the unique SusLab approach, of our German partners Hochschule Ruhr West and Wuppertal Institute on large data collection in households and others.
Also, Prof. Dr. Ad van Wijk explained his views of a future sustainable living environment with a dynamic presentation of the Green Village.
Meanwhile, during the breaks, the participants could explore different elements of the SusLab Sensor Kit. This can be used to take a wide variety of measurements in homes: such as CO2, air temperature and humidity on the one hand, and subjective data on people's comfort on the other. A unique approach to make homes more sustainable and energy efficient!
