SusLab on NRW-Tag in Bielefeld
250.000 visitors celebrated the ‚Day of Northrhine Westfalia’ in Bielefeld from saturday june 28th till sunday june 29th. The celebration of this year’s state-show, which took place in Bielefeld this year, is a combination of performances on several stages, information booths and a pageant.
Part of all these information booths is the presentation of the federal state government of Northrhine-Westfalia with all it’s ministeries. The NRW Ministery for Innovation, Science and Research had chosen SusLabNWE as the representative project for their work. Thus the project was presented on the ‚federal-mile’ on the state-show.
Even Prime Minister of NRW Hannelore Kraft came by and informed herself about the SusLab-Project.
The presentation was separated in three interactive parts:
(1) In the entrance area stood a computer terminal, with the ability to calculate the individual resource-footprint in 13 steps. By providing the system with information about individual behaviour in the three core areas mobility, food and living the visitors got their individual resource footprint. Afterwards the visitor got pieces of information about how to reduce this footprint with the help of the
(2) interim outcomes of the project SusLabNWE from the Hochschule Ruhrwest and some
(3) Transformational Products, developed by Folkwang University of the Arts.
The booth was highly frequented and the idea of SusLab was spread amongst the crowd.
